Awesome Giants Opener in SF

What a great day!  I had gone to SF on Caltrain to visit the Moscone Convention Center for a Marketing convention.  After listening to the CEO of Marketo, I got to see Hillary Clinton, live!  The whole convention was very exciting, with cool music playing and a very upbeat vibe.  Completely different than teaching conventions.    After Hillary was finished speaking, I went downstairs to check out the booths but they weren’t to open for another 30 minutes.

Knowing it was the Giants Home Opener, I decided to blow off going to the booths and instead walked down to the ballpark.  I decided to go to the Public House since I didn’t have a ticket and wasn’t willing to fork out $100 for half a game.

I arrived in the 4th inning and got a seat right at the bar.  I started talking to the couple to my right and then to the guy on my left.  The guy on my left had a ticket, fully paid for, but his friend had it and was inside the stadium.  The guy (can’t remember his name) kept texting his friend to bring him his ticket but the friend was evidently drunk and wouldn’t read his texts.  He just kept texting the guy I was talking to about how drunk he was.

Soon the Giants’ lead increased to 6 to 3.  Everyone went crazy.  Then we got one more at the end of the game.  All the people from the game then came into the Public House and it got a little crazy.  The bartender, who was already a jerk the whole time, got REALLY irritated with the crowd.  He needed a serious attitude adjustment.

After leaving the Public House, I went to look for food.  There was a very rustic building about half a block north of the train station, on 4th.  I can’t remember the name of it but they had excellent tacos and other Mexican food.  I had a taco which was giant and filled me up.  Then caught the baby bullet train around 6:00 and made it to San Jose by 7:00.

Great day!
